They help a bunch...nice to hold an object with both hands while looking at it..
Great pin pointer from Garrett and Metal Detecting Stuff is my #1 source for products. Excellent service
Prepare your gold refining workspace with four chemical supplies: sodium nitrate, urea, sodium metabisulfite, and stannous chloride test solution.
Designed for use in compatible gold recovery and refining procedures, this set brings together chemicals used for solution preparation, conditioning, gold precipitation, and testing.
Chemical supplies only. Hydrochloric acid, glassware, filtration equipment, and protective equipment are sold separately.
8 oz Sodium Nitrate — GTE Nitric Acid Substitute
A solid nitrate source used with separately purchased hydrochloric acid in compatible gold-dissolution procedures. It is not liquid nitric acid.
8 oz Urea — GTE Refining Solution Treatment
Used in some refining procedures to treat nitrous acid in solution before gold precipitation. Urea is not aqua regia, does not dissolve gold, and is not a substitute for properly managing excess nitric acid.
8 oz Sodium Metabisulfite — GTE Gold Precipitant
Used to precipitate dissolved gold from properly prepared refining solutions.
½ oz JSP Stannous Chloride Test Solution
Used to test refining solutions for the presence of dissolved gold.
Your complete supply list depends on the starting material and the refining procedure you follow. Additional requirements typically include:
Hydrochloric acid, in the concentration specified by your procedure
Compatible chemical-resistant reaction vessels and stirring tools
Appropriate filtration equipment, filter papers, and collection vessels
Distilled or deionized water
A suitable scale and liquid-measuring equipment
Chemical splash goggles, appropriate gloves, protective clothing, and any required face protection
A suitable chemical fume hood for corrosive vapors and toxic gases
Compatible, labeled waste containers and an appropriate hazardous-waste disposal arrangement
A furnace or suitable melting setup, crucible, handling tools, and required flux if converting recovered gold into a bar or button
Some materials require additional pretreatment chemicals or processing steps. Confirm all requirements before beginning.
The pouch labeled “Aqua Regia” contains urea. It is a refining treatment chemical—not a ready-to-use aqua regia acid mixture.
This kit does not include liquid nitric acid or hydrochloric acid and does not provide a complete refining workstation.
For trained users working in an appropriately equipped chemical workspace. Read every product label and Safety Data Sheet before use.
Gold refining can produce hazardous reactions, corrosive solutions, and toxic gases. Ordinary room ventilation is not a substitute for suitable chemical fume control. Follow a validated procedure and applicable handling and waste-disposal requirements.
Gold yield and purity depend on the material and process; results are not guaranteed. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
